FOR PARENTS

NEW PARENTS

Congratulations on the arrival of your little one!

CHILDREN

We have a group where you can join to meet with other parents while your child with Down syndrome enjoys group activities where they are ‘one of the crowd’.

PARENTS

Our weekly groups are invaluable for parents to share experiences and discuss issues that arise with parents of similarly aged children.

NEW PARENTS

Whilst the future may seem a little uncertain, we can assure you that life with Down syndrome is worth celebrating. Our parents have all travelled a different journey to perhaps that which they’d initially expected but we will all assure you there are many wonderful views and destinations!

CHILDREN

Pre-school groups: We run regular early development groups for pre-schoolers aged 2-4. For all pre-schoolers and their families we hold monthly messy play sessions as well as social events.

Saturday group: School age children meet on a Saturday morning to enjoy a mixture of sport, drama, dance, yoga and music.

Youth Club: As our children have grown we are now excited to be introducing a youth club for the older children, who will meet at a Youth Club on Sunday evenings for independent activities and also meals out.

PARENTS

We run an annual programme of training events for parents and teaching professionals, these include; termly twilight training sessions for mainstream primary and secondary teaching professionals, day and half day training in specialist subjects such as sensory issues, behaviour, communication, puberty; information evenings for parents on a variety of subjects.
